We also offer consultations, diagnosis and treatments for the following:
Diagnostic endoscopy of pharynx/larynx (including biopsy): If you’re experiencing long term laryngitis, your Consultant may recommend a diagnostic endoscopy of your larynx.
Problems with swallowing or reflux: If you’re having problems swallowing, or experiencing reflux, your Consultant may take a look at your oesophagus under a general anaesthetic. This is known as an oesophagoscopy.
Eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD): ETD occurs when the tube from your ear to the back of your throat can’t equalise pressure. When pressure builds up in the middle of your ear, it can cause hearing difficulties, blocked ears and even pain. Read our guide to what you should know about Eustachian Tube Dysfunction.
Otitis externa: pain in your ear can be caused by swelling of your external ear canal, between your outer ear and eardrum.
Sinusitis: this is swelling of the sinuses, the cavities within your nasal passages. It’s common after a cold or flu and usually goes away after 2-3 weeks. If your sinusitis doesn’t clear up during this time, we can help.
