We offer a range of treatment options for chronic middle ear disease depending on the underlying cause, the severity of the symptoms, and your age.

Myringotomy

A procedure to to relieve the symptoms caused by a number of different conditions. Symptoms may include hearing loss, pain, pressure in the ear and impaired balance.

The treatment involves the surgical cutting out (excision) of a skin abnormality from the visible, external part of the ear.

Treatment for Ménière’s Disease

Treatment for Ménière’s Disease

Ménière’s disease treatment is mainly focused on minimising and controlling your symptoms, including hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo and a feeling of pressure deep inside the ear.

About Mr Wasson

After graduating from UCL with degrees in medicine (MBBS) and immunology (BSc), I undertook my basic surgical training in Essex and London before moving to Cambridge to pursue higher surgical training in ENT. During my registrar training I completed an MBA at Warwick University, passing with distinction.

Before becoming a consultant, I completed prestigious fellowships in otology, balance, hearing implant surgery and anterior and lateral skull base surgery at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Australia. 

I have published and presented extensively and have been awarded a number of prizes, awards and scholarships. 

In 2016 I was appointed as a consultant ENT surgeon with a specialist interest in adult and paediatric otology and hearing implant surgery at East Kent Hospitals University Foundation NHS trust. 

I am an enthusiastic runner and cyclist and enjoy the coastal life, living in Whitstable with my wife and two daughters.
