Arriving at the hospital

When you arrive at the hospital, you’ll be able to park in one of our free car parks. There are disabled spaces for blue badge holders and a convenient drop-off point outside the main hospital entrance.

On entering, you’ll be welcomed by our friendly Reception staff who’ll check you in and advise you where to wait for your appointment. Toilets are available throughout the hospital.

The patient calling screens in our spacious Atrium will call you through to Outpatients Reception and you’ll be directed to one of four waiting zones. We do our best to keep appointments running on time but if there’s likely to be a delay, we’ll let you know.

Pavilion restaurant

Our Pavilion restaurant is open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and on Saturday from 8.30am to 3pm for patients and visitors to purchase hot or cold meals and snacks, and hot and cold drinks, to consume in the restaurant or to take away.

We accept cash or card payments.

Multi-faith Room

We're committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Our hospital has a dedicated multi‑faith room available for patients, visitors, and staff who wish to use a quiet space for prayer, reflection, or contemplation.

The room is open to people of all faiths and those of no faith. For further information, directions, or access arrangements, please speak with a member of our Reception team.

During your consultation

As a new patient, your consultation will last about 20 minutes. To ensure you get the most out of your appointment, we’ve put together some helpful questions you can ask your Consultant:

What options are available for my care?

This will help you better understand your condition and the care that’s available to you. This might include scans, tests, medication, or surgery - or sometimes, no further treatment is needed.

How can I get guidance to make the best decision for me?

Talking to your Consultant about what matters to you will help you them to understand any help you’ll need to make a decision about treatment.

What are the benefits and risks of each option?

Understanding the pros and cons of each option means that you’ll be happier with your care and find it easier to stick to your treatment plan.
