Our medical facilities

The hospital is kitted out with the latest technology across three digital theatres, ACU, purpose-built imaging unit (complete with MRI and CT scanners) and an on-site sterile services unit that helps ensure we keep absolute control of all equipment cleanliness.

Operating theatres

We have three operating theatres, as well as an MRI and CT suite and diagnostic imaging suite. After our multi-million pound redevelopment, all of our facilities have been designed to ensure our patients feel as safe, relaxed and comfortable as possible.

Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU)

Our Ambulatory Care Unit is equipped with the highest quality equipment for upper gastro-intestinal investigations, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy.

Diagnostic Imaging Department

Our Diagnostic Imaging Department performs over 18,000 imaging examinations per year. It uses state-of-the-art technology to produce high quality diagnostic images which may be accessed throughout the hospital within seconds of the patient examination.

Our wards

We have 32 beds in our stunning Garland Ward and Bensan Ward, dedicated to both inpatient and day patients. The ward offers modern facilities, as well as private bedrooms that are bright and spacious with en-suite wet room facilities.

Consultation rooms

Our clinics - including the private GP service - are run from spacious and well-equipped consulting rooms and our staff wear the appropriate personal protective equipment, so you can rest assured that you're in safe hands.

Decontamination Services

Decontamination Services is responsible for the decontamination of reusable medical devices received into, used by and sent out from the hospital. It includes our purpose-built Sterile Services Department (SSD), which deals with the decontamination of reusable surgical instruments, and our Endoscopy Decontamination Unit (EDU) which deals with the decontamination of reusable flexible endoscopes.

Cleanliness and MRSA

We are proud of our zero rate for MRSA blood stream infections and do all we can through this rigorous screening programme to maintain this excellent record of infection prevention and control.

All patients undergoing surgery at the hospital are screened for MRSA. For Ophthalmology, Endoscopy and Day Case Radiology patients, only those who are at high risk of being positive for MRSA will be screened.
