About the Friends of Benenden Hospital

We aim to raise funds to improve the experience for everyone who visits our hospital. This includes installing new, advanced technology, introducing art installations around the hospital, enhancing and calming our patients’ experience, or providing staff with essential equipment to provide the best care for our patients.

Recent donations

Recent donations have allowed us to install new entertainment screens in our 32 en-suite rooms at a cost of £30,000.

This improves the in-patient experience for our patients. It allows them to access TV shows, music and films, summon help from staff and access essential information about treatment and our hospital from the comfort of their bed.

How do I leave a legacy?

Leaving a legacy in your Will is easy to do, but we would recommend talking to a solicitor or professional advisor to ensure that your wishes are carried out correctly. You may choose to leave a gift to enable a specific piece of work, or to benefit a particular department – or as general funds to be used where the need is greatest.

What have previous donations contributed to?

Previous generous donations have enabled us to install the Heritage Wall screens in our Atrium, entertainment screens in our en-suite rooms and the bright graphics in our lifts.

Does the hospital run fundraising appeals?

We sometimes run special appeals or campaigns which we’ll announce these on this page and on our socials. We also regularly welcome the Rising Mercury Society whose fundraising events have contributed up to £20,000 a year to our hospital.
