What are the benefits of self-pay?

If you need help now with a particular health concern and don’t want to wait, paying for your own treatment in hospital is a smart way to get back on the road to recovery, fast.

There are three reasons why self-funded healthcare could be the right choice for you, if:

  • You don’t have private medical insurance
  • You do have private medical insurance, or you’re a Benenden Health member, but you’re not covered for the treatment you need
  • You’re worried about NHS waiting lists or feel you’ve been waiting too long already

Treatment prices - how much does private medical treatment cost?

You can trust us to give you outstanding personal care for a guaranteed price, based on your precise individual needs, with no hidden costs.

Your first consultation and any tests or investigations are all paid for separately but, once we know what your treatment will involve, we’ll give you a fixed, all-inclusive price. It will cover one post-operative follow-up (not including cosmetic procedures), diagnosis, surgery and a private en-suite room.

Spread the cost of your treatment

Take advantage of payment plans through our trusted partner, Chrysalis, and spread the cost of your treatment. Fit your repayments into your monthly budget rather than having to find the full cost at the time of your treatment.

I have a question about paying for my own treatment

What is private healthcare?

Private healthcare is medical treatment that you pay for yourself, either directly to a private hospital or healthcare provider or through your private medical insurance. You can find out more about how to go private in our guide.

Why should I choose self-pay healthcare?

If you need help now with a health concern, and don’t want to wait, paying for your own private treatment in hospital is a smart way to get back on the road to recovery, fast.

There are four reasons why self-funded healthcare could be the right choice for you, if:

You don’t have private medical insurance

If you’re worried about an unexpected health condition, and don’t have private medical insurance, self-pay treatments can be a good option if you need to be seen quickly and can fund your own treatment.

Your private medical insurance or Benenden Health membership doesn’t cover treatment

We’re open to all, so if your existing health insurance doesn’t cover the care you need, self-pay gives you access to over 250 treatments and services.

You’re worried about NHS waiting lists or feel you’ve been waiting too long already

If your condition is affecting your quality of life, and you don’t want to wait for NHS care, our self-pay treatments ensure that you’re seen quickly by our expert clinicians.

Your health is affecting family or work commitments

If you’re missing work or you’re unable to enjoy family life, self-pay healthcare offers speedier access to diagnosis, so you can get back to being you.

Which self-pay healthcare treatments and services do you offer?
