We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated healthcare support worker to join our Eye Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a specialist setting, supporting patients undergoing ophthalmic procedures and contributing to high standards of care.
Under the supervision and responsibility of the Registered Health Professional (RHP), the HSW will implement high standards of care for patients as prescribed and delegated by the RHP following hospital guidelines and protocols and always promoting a patient-focused approach and delivering the hospitals business objectives.

About the role
- Assist clinical staff such as nurses, radiographers, and physiotherapists.
- Support patients with personal care, mobility, and hygiene needs.
- Carry out delegated clinical tasks under supervision.
- Accurately document patient interactions and update IT systems.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist with procedures.
- Maintain clean, well-stocked care areas and handle medical equipment safely.
Skills and experience required
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience.
- NVQ Level III in Health & Social Care or willingness to undertake.
- Basic Life Support training.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask under pressure and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good IT skills and attention to detail.
- A caring, flexible, and patient-focused approach.
