We are currently recruiting for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our Flexi bank team in the Eye Unit. You will be responsible for working closely with and supporting the nursing staff implementing high standards of care for patients, whilst following hospital guidelines and protocols.
This is a flexi bank positions so shifts are worked based on the demands of the hospital and your availability. You also have the opportunity to work across other departments as a healthcare support worker as part of this position.

About the role
- Undertake delegated clinical tasks within the department and report back to the RHP on clinical interventions.
- Accurately update patient information on IT systems.
- Ensure patient care areas are effectively maintained and well stocked.
- Work flexibly within the department, according to training, competency and skills.
Skills and experience required
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience
- Relevant professional qualification i.e., NVQ Level III in Health & Social Care (or other relevant Health-related qualification). or willingness to undertake.
- Basic Life Support training
- Good IT skills
- Proven ability to undertake multiple tasks under pressure
- Methodical in approach and pays attention to detail
- Effective verbal communication using tact and diplomacy
- Strong patient-centred approach
