What is ROSA partial knee?

ROSA® partial knee, developed by Zimmer Biomet, helps your Surgeon perform your knee surgery with greater accuracy and confidence. Using advanced technology, it guides the procedure and makes precise adjustments, reducing the risk of over or under-correction. This accuracy can lead to a more natural fit, less pain after surgery, and a quicker return to everyday activities. The goal is to help you recover faster and get back to doing the things you love.

Our ROSA Knee surgery Price Promise

We aim for our pricing to be clear and transparent, with no hidden costs.

We may initially provide you with a guide price but, once you’ve paid for an initial consultation and any diagnostic scans, tests and investigations, we’ll be able to give you a more accurate and final price for your treatment.

If you find a better price for an identical ROSA Knee replacement procedure, with the same service conditions, at another private hospital within 30 miles of Benenden Hospital, we’ll match the price.

  • We match personalised, written quotes only.

I have a question about ROSA partial knee replacement

Why would I need a partial knee replacement?

If osteoarthritis of the knee has only affected part (the inside/medial or outside/lateral) ‘compartment’ of your knee.

Research shows that nearly 50% of knee replacement patients could be candidates for partial knee arthroplasty (replacement).1

What are the benefits of ROSA Knee System for partial knee replacement?

  • Better accuracy during surgery – The robotic system helps your Surgeon make precise bone cuts, which may lead to more reliable and consistent results
  • Protection of natural knee structures – Technological guidance supports the preservation of key knee ligaments, like the ACL, helping maintain stability and better function post-surgery
  • Faster recovery with less pain – Partial knee replacement (PKA) using the ROSA® system generally results in less pain compared to total knee surgery, helping you get back on your feet sooner with reduced need for pain medications
  • Shorter hospital stays – With minimally invasive techniques and robotic precision, many patients experience quicker healing and shorter stays in the hospital
  • More natural knee movement – Preserving more of your own knee structures and tailoring the implant placement may support better joint function and a smoother transition back to everyday activities

Research shows that up to 58% of patients surveyed would prefer a PKA over a TKA, when presented with the benefits and risks of both.2

How does the ROSA Knee System work?

Every knee is unique. The ROSA® Knee system collects detailed data before and during surgery to help your Surgeon tailor the procedure to your anatomy.

Using a camera and sensors attached to your leg, ROSA provides real-time information about your knee’s position and makes tiny adjustments if it moves, ensuring your Surgeon’s plan is followed precisely.

ROSA doesn’t operate on its own, it’s a tool your Surgeon controls to assist with accurate placement of your new partial knee joint.

What type of implant do you use?

Zimmer Biomet has a rich clinical history leading to the Persona® Partial Knee implant.

Can any Orthopaedic Surgeon use the ROSA Knee System?

Only specially trained Orthopaedic Surgeons can use the robot.

Can I get a partial knee replacement using the ROSA Knee System on my private medical insurance?

Please check with your insurance provider whether they would cover ‘ROSA partial knee replacement’. If you gain an authorisation request, you can come to Benenden Hospital for treatment.
