Excision or biopsy of lesion of the vulva (non cosmetic)

A lesion of the vulva is considered an abnormality or damage in the tissue.

Excision means removal by cutting. This would be carried out under anaesthetic. Vaginal lesions are disorders of the vagina. These could include genital warts, pre-cancers or cancers. The tissue excised is sent to the laboratory to be examined. The results take a few weeks.
