A free weight loss surgery open morning is to be held at Benenden Hospital next week (January 26) from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
The event is aimed at potential patients who will have the chance to book a free consultation with Consultant Bariatric Surgeon Mr Ahmed Hamouda and his team.
The special offer comes amid a growing obesity trend throughout the UK with associated health-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension and obstructive sleep apnoea.
Visitors will hear from former patients Philip Seymour, 46, and Emma Hannett, 50, who successfully underwent gastric sleeve operations at Benenden Hospital.
Philip amazingly lost 12 stone and is planning to run the London Marathon and Emma has also now taken up running.
Emma said: “How I feel now makes me quite emotional because it has been a life-changing experience. It’s been fantastic, I’m slim, fit and healthy.”
There will also be a short video presentation about weight loss surgery at the open event, a Q&A with the hospital’s bariatric team, a tour of the newly-developed hospital rated “outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and free lunch.
Benenden Hospital’s weight loss options are the laparoscopic gastric band, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric balloons including the Elipse which can be swallowed.
The hospital offers a wide range of healthcare consultations, treatments and diagnostic services to Benenden members, self-pay patients and those with private medical insurance (PMI). Some services may also be available to NHS patients via the e-referral system.
To register for the open event and find out more about the hospital’s self-pay bariatric surgery, call the hospital’s private patient office on 01580 230420 or go to www.benendenhospital.org.uk/weightloss
