Are you a proactive, skilled Mechanical Technician looking to make a real impact in a patient‑focused environment? We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) to join our dedicated Estates Team and support the delivery of a safe, efficient and well‑maintained hospital.
In this key position, you will carry out both planned and reactive mechanical maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery, systems and infrastructure across the Hospital. You will also support small projects, improvement initiatives, and cross‑disciplinary work as needed within the Estates Maintenance Team.
Working closely with clinical and non‑clinical teams, you will help maintain a reliable, compliant environment that enables high‑quality patient care.

About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance and reactive mechanical repairs across the Hospital site.
- Support mechanical projects, installations and upgrade works.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across electrical and general building disciplines when required.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate records using the Hospital’s systems.
- Provide a high level of customer care to internal stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and effective communication at all times.
- Prioritise workload, respond to urgent issues, and manage tasks methodically and efficiently.
Skills and experience required
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable experience in mechanical maintenance.
- A relevant qualification and/or time-served apprenticeship.
- Knowledge of decontamination processes.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety practices, including risk assessments and associated training.
- Strong customer service skills with a customer‑centred approach.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Good IT literacy and ability to use maintenance systems.
- Highly organised, methodical, and attentive to detail.
- Flexible, adaptable, and self‑motivated with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
