We are seeking a proactive and experienced Multiskilled Technician – Mechanical to join our Estates Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Estates & Grounds Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across the hospital site. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, initiative, and a strong commitment to safety and service standards.
The 30 hours a week will be worked across 4 days with the non working day being a Wednesday or a Friday. However a full time contract (37.5 hours) over 5 days will also be considered. The role would suit someone who enjoys being part of a dynamic and hard working team who has a real can do attitude. Please note - Due to the possible severity of some call out emergencies, you must be no more than 40 minute drive of the hospital on those occasions.

About the role
Carry out mechanical maintenance tasks and minor repairs across the hospital estate.
- Support cross-discipline work within the Estates team as required.
- Ensure compliance with national and local Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Respond to and complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks in line with departmental SLAs.
- Participate in the on-call rota, with site attendance required within 40 minutes.
- Contribute to small projects and assist with technical tasks across the department.
Skills and experience required
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience - Essential
- Experience of mechanical maintenance – Essential
- Relevant qualification and/or time served apprenticeship - Desirable
- Experience of decontamination periodic testing, CP for MGPS, Legionella Prevention and Control - Desirable
- Knowledge of Health & Safety practices including risk assessments and relevant training
- Demonstrable experience of good customer care skills
- Effective verbal communication
- Good organisational skills
- IT literate
- Strong customer- centred approach
- Methodical in approach and pays attention to detail
- Organised, flexible, adaptable, self-motivated
