The bulbs were presented by the Tenterden Rotary Club on behalf of Rotary Crocus, one of the leading international fundraisers for the End Polio Now Campaign. Bulb presentations and planting of the crocuses raise awareness of the campaign.

The bulbs will be planted in Benenden Hospital’s sensory garden very soon and will flower in the Spring. The crocuses will all be purple, as the colour matches the dye painted on the fingers of children who have been immunised.

The bulbs were presented by Clive Wilson and Sarah Williams from Tenterden Rotary Club. The Hospital was also given a certificate. They were presented to Head Grounds person Carol Head.

Carol said: “Here at the Hospital we are always willing to support a good cause, especially one which helps to eradicate disease and illness.”

The campaign hopes to eradicate polio worldwide by 2018.
