I bring considerable Board experience to the hospital, both as an Executive and as an Independent Non-Executive Director, including both as MD/CEO and as a Non-Executive Chair.

These roles have been in both the private and public sectors, and typically in large scale organisations facing major competitive change and often in regulated markets. These include various Board Executive positions across the Royal Mail Group, being the inaugural Chair of a large national autonomous NHS organisation - working with the Department of Health -  and most recently in Non-Executive roles at South East Water Ltd. My earlier leadership roles in the private sector include Unilever, in the financial services sector and in small manufacturing businesses.

I have led various functions in my career prior to general management, from marketing and commercial director roles to customer service, systems development and people strategies.

My business passions are around customers, and the people delivering services for them, and ensuring good governance and the right ethos for the organization.

I'm married and live in Kent. My interests are various sports, including playing tennis and the arts.
