Under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Health Professional (RHP), you will support the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate clinical care in line with hospital guidelines and protocols. You’ll contribute to an excellent patient experience while helping the hospital achieve its wider business objectives.

About the role
- Deliver high standards of patient care as delegated by the RHP
- Support clinical assessments, basic diagnostic tests, and patient observations
- Assist with procedures, examinations, and general ward activities.
- Use clinical skills such as phlebotomy, cannulation, catheter care, ECG recording, urinalysis, bladder scanning, and dressing changes (training available if required).
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Promote a patient-centred, compassionate, and dignified approach to care.
- Contribute to a positive, professional team culture.
Skills and experience required
- Educated to GCSE level or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
- Relevant professional qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate, or willingness to work towards it.
- Basic Life Support
- Competence or willingness to train in a range of clinical skills (e.g., phlebotomy, cannulation, catheter care, ECG recording).
- Good IT and digital record‑keeping skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy, fast‑paced environment.
- Methodical, organised, and attentive to detail.
- Strong communication skills, using tact, diplomacy, and empathy.
- A positive, proactive, and flexible attitude.
- Demonstrates professionalism, honesty, integrity, and strong ethics.
