Benenden Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to actively support the Pharmacy Manager in delivering a safe, effective, and high‑quality pharmacy service. About the role
- Take a leading role in ensuring excellent pharmaceutical care for all patients at Benenden Hospital
- Assume the role of a Responsible Pharmacist and deputise for the Pharmacy Manager when required
- Lead on antimicrobial stewardship, representing Pharmacy on the Infection Control Committee
- Drive the development and review of Trust Patient Group Directions (PGDs) and associated training
- Lead and develop the clinical pharmacy service for surgical inpatients, embedding best practice in medicines management
- Develop, review, and update pharmacy policies, guidelines, and SOPs
- Lead on audit programmes, data collection, and presentations to support continuous quality improvement
- Supervise and support the clinical workload of the junior pharmacist and pharmacy technicians
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager with elements of line management and professional development of junior staff
Skills and experience required
- Degree in Pharmacy
- Registration with GPhC as a Pharmacist
- At least 4 years of post-registration experience
- Evidence of CPD
- Experience of working within a healthcare team
- Previous experience of working in a busy dispensary environment
- Previous hospital experience is desirable but not essential
- Previous experience of supervising and training other staff is essential
- Experience and skills in using computer programs and harnessing technology to enhance the Pharmacy service
- Previous experience of developing and undertaking audits, audit report writing and presentation of results
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with colleagues
- Evidence of good customer service skills and awareness
