About Dr Sighakoli
I am a Consultant Physician with dual accreditation in General Internal Medicine and Diabetes and Endocrinology, with over eight years of substantive consultant experience within the NHS. I have been a Consultant at Medway NHS Foundation Trust since 2017. I completed my postgraduate specialist training in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery, including 18 months of advanced specialist training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.
I currently serve as Audit Lead for the Division of Specialist Medicine, medicine and Emergency Care and have held several leadership roles, including Patient Safety Lead and Departmental Lead. I have a strong interest in medical education and am actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate doctors, as well as allied healthcare professionals.
My clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of general diabetes and endocrinology. I have particular expertise in diabetes in young adults, insulin pump therapy, medical weight management, hypogonadism, bone health and calcium disorders, and adrenal and thyroid disease.
I have contributed to national medical literature through the publication of case reports and abstracts and am a member of the Royal College of Physicians, the Endocrine Society, and the European Society of Endocrinology. Outside of work, my interests include spending time with family, following world news, and walking
