About the role
The Nursing Associate will support Registered Nurses to plan and implement high‑quality, safe, and effective care in line with hospital policies, guidelines, and protocols. You will play an integral role in delivering an excellent patient experience while actively supporting the hospital’s clinical and business objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering high standards of patient‑centred care under the direction and delegation of Registered Nursing staff
- Supporting safe clinical practice within the Eye Unit
- Contributing to the efficient running of the department
- Promoting professionalism, teamwork, and a positive working culture
- Demonstrating flexibility to meet the changing needs of the service
Skills and experience required
- Nursing Associate Foundation Degree qualification
- Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and revalidation
- ILS qualification or willingness to undertake training
- Experience in phlebotomy and ECG monitoring
- Competence in catheter care and wound care
- Strong organisational, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- A strong patient‑centred approach
- Good IT skills, including MS Office and web‑based reporting systems
- Ability to build positive working relationships and support effective team working
- A professional, ethical, and honest approach to work
- A positive, can‑do attitude with flexibility to support service needs
