Immediately after cataract surgery Shirley Davis noticed a huge difference in her sight – the grass was greener and everything was bright, clear and sharp.
Mrs Davis, aged 80, who lives in Kent, had surgery in both eyes, at the same time and chose to have special lenses fitted which would meet her individual needs.
Friends had been to Benenden Hospital and they had only good things to say about the hospital, so it came highly recommended.
Feeling that her sight was deteriorating rapidly Mrs Davis first approached the NHS for treatment, but was told she would have to wait several months. Not wanting to wait that long Mrs Davis turned to Benenden, as her and her husband have been members of the healthcare organisation for many years.
She said: “Friends had been to Benenden Hospital and they had only good things to say about the hospital, so it came highly recommended.
“The surgery I had has made a huge difference. I can now drive without glasses and I don’t need glasses for reading. I only need glasses to watch the television and then I only need them sometimes.
“The surgery was quick and painless and the results were immediate. I was nervous beforehand but the staff put me at ease and I didn’t feel a thing.”
