Working in Support Services at Benenden Hospital

The Management and support teams at Benenden Hospital all play a part in helping the hospital run smoothly and efficiently.

Our Reception and Patient Administration positions communicate with our patients and visitors working closely with the clinical teams. Our Porters, Estates team, Catering staff and Housekeepers play a vital role in maintaining the hospital and grounds and providing services to our patients and visitors.

Our Decontamination Services team is responsible for the decontamination of reusable medical devices received into, used by and sent out from the hospital.

And our back-office departments of Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Governance, and IT all contribute to the running of an exceptional hospital service.

We pride ourselves on supporting each other and this makes Benenden Hospital a great place to work.

Video transcript

I'm currently in the Reservations team lead role, which has been quite a nice natural progression from where I started at the hospital. I actually came back from maternity leave and the opportunity came up and it was too good to miss, so I went for that, and I was well supported by my manager in doing so.

I think one of the things I like most about my role is making the difference to the patients, encouraging the team to be part of that journey for the patient as well and the fact that by helping others we will help each other as well. We're really lucky at Benenden Hospital, obviously our affiliation with Benenden Health means that we do have our Benenden Health membership. We also have access to Vita Health to support us through any mental health issues, so we're well supported here at Benenden Hospital.

I would definitely recommend Benenden Hospital as a place to work; we're so lucky to be surrounded by the beautiful countryside here and it really has a family feel to it.
