Today, our hospital proudly celebrated the incredible dedication of our nursing team by acknowledging where their nursing journey started - and the international reach and impact the profession has.

To mark the occasion, we asked colleagues to come along and put 'journey pins' in our world and UK maps - be that where they have travelled from, trained or worked during their careers. Coloured thread was then used to link all these locations back to our hospital - an impactful visual that captures just how far our nurses have all come in their journeys to Benenden Hospital.

Ali Turner, Director of Clinical Services, said:

"Today, we join the global community in recognising and honouring the essential contributions of nurses across the world."

"At Benenden Hospital, we're proud of the international diversity that enriches our workforce and strengthens the care we deliver. It has been fantastic to see our amazing team’s roots and career journeys represented on our maps.

"We celebrate the skills and extraordinary dedication they've brought to our hospital, and the compassion and strength they – and all nurses – bring to their role every single day."

To all our Nurses, Students, Trainees, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Support Workers, as well as our extended clinical disciplines and the wider services across our hospital, thank you all for the incredible work you do every day and for supporting our wonderful profession !
