I am a Consultant Rheumatologist with a wide range of experience in this speciality.
Qualifying from the Westminster Medical School in 1986, I subsequently spent three years in research in the department of academic rheumatology at the St Georges Hospital Medical School in London.
I completed my rheumatology and acute internal medicines training with the South Thames Regional Training Scheme and in 2000 I was awarded a certificate of specialist accreditation in both rheumatology and internal medicine. I was also appointed to my first Consultant post in the same year.
In addition to the services I provide at Benenden Hospital I also a Consultant Rheumatologist with the NHS working at the East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust, where I am the clinical lead for Rheumatology services.
In my spare time, I enjoy sailing, windsurfing and ski touring.
My clinical interests include inflammatory arthritis, gout, fibromyalgia, back pain, osteoporosis, connective tissue disorders, polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and giant cell arteritis (GCA).
