Why Benenden Hospital

We provide services in our calm and healing environment. Located in the heart of the Wealden countryside, our healing atmosphere is helped by our rural location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

To our patients and us, it's a special place and precisely what a hospital should be; progressively modern, unquestionably clean, genuinely caring, and staffed by the best people in their individual fields.

Common questions

How do I become a member of Benenden Health?

Benenden Health is an affordable alternative to private health insurance. It is not medical insurance.

Services are offered on a discretionary basis which means they're subject to the resources available through membership contributions. This discretionary approach has served the membership well for more than 110 years.

How do I book a treatment?

You will need to have been a Benenden Health member for at least six months before you can access medical services.

If you wish to access services or treatments using your Benenden membership, please contact Member Services on 0800 414 8100 and they will advise you on the referral process and requirements.

How and when do I pay?

If you're a member of Benenden Health, and your treatment is covered by your membership, Member Services will advise of any relevant limits of cover.

However, if your treatment is not covered by your membership, and you're being treated as a self-funding patient, you'll have to pay before you can have your treatment. Payment can be made by major credit or debit card, electronic payment directly into our bank account, cash or cheque.
