Hip hip hooray - get back on your feet quicker after hip replacement surgery

Get back on your feet after hip replacement surgery

Designed to make you feel better, we're now offering shorter stays for hip replacement patients, allowing you to leave hospital after just one night - all thanks to a new anaesthetic.

Innovative treatments and care

We were the first private hospital in the UK to use the Pericapsular Nerve Group (PENG) Block, an innovative technique that has patients up and walking just two hours after hip replacement surgery.

It's safe, effective and provides relief from postoperative pain and reduces the need for painkillers. We were also the first private hospital in the UK to be nationally accredited for providing the highest standards of care in anaesthetics by the Royal College of Anaesthetists. This may not be suitable for all patients.

Excellent patient feedback

Benenden Health member Andy Chandler was the first patient to have the PENG Block and is now back at work, gardening and playing golf.

He said “I was very nervous about going into hospital overnight for the first time, especially for quite a big operation. I was up and about in no time at all. To be allowed out after just one night was amazing because there’s no place like home.”

Faster access to treatment

Is the fear of a long hospital stay stopping you from booking your hip replacement? Are you tired of playing the waiting game? As you know, we're is rated “Outstanding” by the CQC and is open to everyone including those who want to “self-pay” for treatment.

Infection control

It’s reassuring to know that you’re in safe hands. We have a low post-operative infection rate of under 1%, compared to the national average of 6.4% and no cases of MRSA and we're further enhancing the measures we’re taking. We've streamlined the flow of patients to ensure everyone can move around safely and reduced the risk of infection, driven by strict cleaning and hygiene routines.
