Jane Abbott, Hospital Director at Benenden Hospital, completed the 2016 London Moonwalk in around nine hours and raised £810 for research into breast cancer.
Jane not only wanted to raise awareness and money but walking the 26 miles overnight was also a personal challenge. Following an accident her ankle has a plate and pins in situ, along with screws so that it doesn't move. Before training for the event the longest distance she had walk in recent years was just two miles.
She was met on the finishing line by Hospital colleagues and friends. She walked part of the route with one of her daughters.
