Our established volunteer team make a valuable contribution to Benenden hospital and have a positive impact on everyday business. By volunteering, you will help patients during their hospital experience, make amazing friends along the way and you can also apply to progress onto Flexi-Bank or other job roles within the hospital.

What we can offer you

Our team is, by nature, inherently caring. Free parking is available at the hospital and you will receive support with training. We have an active calendar, and you can also enjoy free tea and coffee and enjoy subsidised rates in our café. We also have a relaxing sensory garden on our hospital site which is regularly used by patients and staff. Plus, every three months you'll be treated to a complimentary breakfast, which is also an opportunity to meet up with the other volunteers and receive any team updates from our volunteer lead, Claire Mansfield - Resourcing Officer.

We are a CQC Outstanding private hospital. Our new hospital is a modern, healing space, designed to make our patients feel better.

Clinical excellence

We hold ourselves to the highest standards, with a 0% MRSA infection rate, and a rigorous approach to infection control. We're proud to be a centre of clinical excellence in several of our specialist services.

The roles available

Volunteer roles are varied and rewarding. As well as the support they provide to the hospital our volunteers will be given the opportunity to build on their existing experience and knowledge or develop new skills.

Volunteers can provide support in the following positions:

• Administrator
• Receptionist
• Clinical Support
• Catering Assistant
• Meet and Greet
• Porter
• Grounds person
• Housekeeper

Once we've received your application, we'll contact you to arrange an informal interview.

Your health and wellbeing is important to us and once we've agreed on the best volunteer role for you we'll begin the onboarding process.

All our volunteer opportunities are subject to a satisfactory Standard or Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service, evidence of an applicant’s Right to Work in the UK and acceptable reference checks.

Once your satisfactory checks are received, Claire will contact you again to arrange your first day induction and begin your training.
