We are recruiting for an Information Governance Manager on a 6-month fixed-term contract to support the Governance team through a significant period of development and improvement. This role has been created to provide dedicated focus on a range of information governance priorities, including strengthening governance processes, enhancing compliance activities, and embedding best practice across the organisation.
Location: Remote with occasional travel to Benenden Hospital, TN17 4AX
Working hours: Monday to Friday 09.00 - 17.00

Reporting to the Group Data Protection Officer and working closely with the Information Governance Officer, you will act as the subject matter expert for Information Governance across Benenden Hospital.
About the role
Key objectives during the contract
- Modernise the Record of Processing Activities (RoPA) process and support its migration to the OneTrust platform.
- Implementation of streamlined DPIA and LIA processes, supporting with the completion of assessments and providing guidance on mitigation strategies.
- Develop, review, and update information governance procedures and guidance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure data handling processes are in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support in managing third party supplier security/compliance assessments, building relationships with key suppliers, and outlining steps for security improvements where appropriate.
- Support the group DPO in conducting audits to assess compliance with information governance policies and procedures.
Skills and experience required
As an Information Governance Manager, you’ll have:
Essential experience
- Significant experience in Information Governance, Data Protection or Compliance
- Experience working within healthcare or another highly regulated environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation
- Experience supporting DPIAs, LIAs and risk management activities
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and third-party suppliers
Desirable
- Experience using OneTrust
- ISO27001 experience
- PCI DSS knowledge
- Relevant Information Governance or Data Protection qualification
