We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Housekeeping Assistant to join our Facilities Team and play a vital role in supporting our patients, visitors and colleagues.
As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will help ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and customer service across both clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working as part of a team, and wants to make a positive difference to the patient experience.
The hours of this vacancy are Monday - Friday 21.00 - 24.00

About the role
Working across the hospital, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients, visitors and staff, whilst demonstrating professionalism, compassion and respect in every interaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hospital.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments to ensure patient areas are clean, accessible and welcoming.
- Supporting patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality at all times.
- Following infection prevention and control procedures and ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations.
- Managing linen supplies, including stock monitoring, tracking returns and maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting uniform provision by taking measurements, checking stock levels, placing orders, issuing uniforms and maintaining documentation.
- Ordering and managing consumable stock to ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Completing cleaning schedules and records accurately and within required timescales.
- Promoting Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) and supporting neurodiversity through respectful and inclusive interactions with patients, carers and colleagues.
Skills and experience required
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous housekeeping, cleaning or facilities experience, ideally within a healthcare, hospitality or similar environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- A positive, proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
- The ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Good problem-solving skills and the confidence to use initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy, tact and discretion.
- A genuine commitment to delivering a professional, responsive and patient-focused service.
