Porters play a vital role in the day‑to‑day operation of the hospital. You will be responsible for the safe and timely movement of patients, records, equipment, stores, and both general and clinical waste across the site. Your work will directly support clinical teams and ensure the smooth, efficient running of hospital services.

About the role
- Transport patients safely and respectfully between departments
- Move medical records, equipment, and supplies across the hospital site
- Assist with the disposal and transportation of general and clinical waste
- Provide a high standard of customer service to patients, visitors, and colleagues
- Work flexibly to support a fast‑paced healthcare environment
- A full UK driving licence is essential
Skills and experience required
- Strong customer service skills with a patient‑focused approach
- Confident communicator with strong verbal and interpersonal skills
- Able to engage positively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
- Previous experience working in a healthcare environment
- A caring, sympathetic, and professional manner at all times
- Motivated and able to prioritise tasks in a busy working environment
- Well organised, task‑focused, and able to work on your own initiative
- Comfortable using Outlook calendars and email
