A Physiotherapist by background, I started my junior rotations through Pembury Hospital ,Kent and Sussex Hospital and The Queen Victoria Hospital at East Grinstead. In 1992 I moved to Newham to take up a role in Paediatric Physiotherapy and from there to Johannesburg General Hospital for a brief spell before moving to Greenwich in 1997 where I continued to develop my specialist interest in paediatrics. It was in Greenwich that I first became interested in improving services particularly in terms of access to care and in 2003 I was invited to be an associate of The Access Partnership (an organisation affiliated to the NHS and working on improving access and service redesign).
During my time in Greenwich I worked closely with the team to redesign the services to improve access and quality. In 2004 I was appointed to the Professional Executive Committee to help provide clinical assurance to the Board and ensure strong clinical engagement and was later appointed Chair of this committee in January 2010.
I joined Benenden Hospital in May 2010 and have a very strong commitment to ensuring high quality safe care and the very best patient experience. I recognise that this can only be achieved through strong team work and really value the commitment of staff to continuous improvement and patient care.
