Part time: 22.5 hours

Salary: £31,696.00 - £43,900.00 pro rata depending on experience

Benenden Hospital is looking for an experienced Ultra Sonographer with significant relevant experience to join their diagnostics team. This role reports into the Imaging lead

The Ultra Sonographer will be accountable for the safe day to day running of the Ultrasonography Service within the Hospital; planning and implementing high standards of care for patients whilst following hospital guidelines and protocols. 

We are looking for someone who will promote a patient focussed approach to care; ensuring patient care areas are safe and fit for purpose. They will be required to undertake a range of work procedures using complex or sensitive information which will require the use of initiative and analysis and will act as the patients advocate, maintaining their dignity at all times.

The post holder will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and will demonstrate a strong patient–centred approach in everything that they do. They will be methodical and logical in their approach particular paying attention to detail. The post holder will also be able to demonstrate their strong problem solving skills and emotional intelligence.

We have some exciting opportunities, both full and part time, for Senior Theatre Practitioners at Benenden Hospital.

With responsibility for implementing high standards of peri-operative care within a wider theatre team, you will be competent and skilled to assist and monitor patient care within theatres and the recovery environment. Having a patient-centred approach, you will work as part of the Theatres team, providing support and mentorship to more junior roles.

You will have a degree in Operating Department Practice or equivalent experience, and will be willing to learn new skills. With methodical skills, you will pay attention to the details to ensure you deliver the highest patient care possible.

We will consider candidates who wish for part time as well as full time hours (full time hours are 37.5 per week).

Full Time 37.5 hours

£35,000-£38,000 depending on experience

 

Benenden Hospital is looking to recruit a dynamic leader in the Ambulatory Care unit. The post holder will be required to provide professional , technical leadership, operational management and clinical expertise to the Ambulatory Care team .

The post reports into the Matron of Clinical Operations.

Duties will include, but is not exhaustive of:

  • Providing clinical, professional and visible management of the team within the department to deliver high quality patient centred care against the ACU activity and development plans
  • Responsible for the safe day to day running of the team to deliver scheduled activity and efficiencies, collaborating closely with Clinical Leads, providing cross cover and deputising for the Theatre Manager as required
  • Responsible for delivering excellent governance, ensuring team members are legally compliant and adhering to all regulatory Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements and clinical standards
  • To provide specialist Endoscopy and excellent clinical knowledge and support to the Theatre Manager and Matron/Clinical Operations Manager, including support for planning activity and improvements to pre-procedure care
  • To ensure service provision is delivered in line with cost efficiency adhering to budgetary controls, planned activity and regulatory compliance
  • To ensure all patient areas and the ACU environment is safe, fit for purpose and effectively maintained
  • To act as a role model for staff and patient advocate, ensuring a positive patient experience for all
  • To maintain own clinical competency

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in endoscopy and will be able to evidence their ability to successfully manage an endoscopy unit and its staff. They will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and will evidence a strong patient-centered approach. The successful candidate will also have strong planning and prioritising skills and will be well organised.

At Benenden Hospital we are seeking highly motivated, dynamic and flexible individuals to make this new unit a success

Ambulatory Care is a patient focused service where procedures are carried out without the need for an overnight stay in hospital. The aim of this unit is to provide our patients with a seamless service which is patient focused.

We are looking for experienced Nurses and ODPs within the Theatre or Endoscopic environment.

The successful applicant would be joining an organisation which is highly patient focused and therefore they will need to be a great team player who is highly motivated and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills and committed to self-development.

Radiographer

Part time 22 hours

Salary £22,128.00-£30,185.00 depending on experience.

Benenden Hospital is looking for a part time Radiographer to implement high standards of radiography care for patients in our new imaging unit.

The post holder will follow standard operating policies and procedures and will undertake a wide range of work procedures as detailed below:

  • Act as the patient’s advocate, maintaining their dignity at all times
  • Ensure patient care areas are safe, fit for purpose and effectively maintained
  • Ensure patient information data is correctly recorded in the appropriate IT systems
  • Maintain and rotate stock levels of equipment and consumables
  • Help to organise and prepare rooms for continued safe use at all times
  • Check, clean and maintain sterile/non-sterile equipment, clearing away used instruments and all other items used during procedures,
  • Maintain professional development particularly through the national professional body
  • Contribute to budgetary management by exercising care and economy in the ordering and use of equipment and consumables
  • Supporting activities such as undertaking administrative duties to support the department when required
  • Communicate with patients and their carers verbally and in writing as and when required
  • Communicate with other staff members and stakeholders (i.e. consultants, departments company representatives), verbally and in writing as and when required, concerning sometimes complex information, such as patient history and clinical procedures

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate solid experience in the radiography field and will have excellent customer service skills. They will have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Theatre Manager

Full Time - 37.5hrs  

Salary - £47,092.00

Rated as Outstanding by the CQC, Benenden Hospital is looking for a dynamic, established senior clinical leader for the exciting new position of Theatre Manager. This role reports into the Matron/Clinical Operational Manager for surgery.

The Theatre Manager will be responsible for the management and activity of the Operating Theatres and Decontamination Service.

The key responsibilities are as listed below but are not exhaustive of the role:

  • To provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership that provides direction and highly visible professional leadership for all staff within the teams
  • To take a overall responsibility for the planning and delivery of safe patient centred care within Theatres and Decontamination Services , in line with key performance indicators, service efficiencies and improvements  with the strategic objectives and business plan for the hospital
  • Responsible for delivering excellent governance, ensuring all teams and services are legally compliant and adhering to all regulatory Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements and clinical standards
  • To provide specialist theatre knowledge and support to Matron and Director of Patient Services
  • To be responsible for the day-to-day management of Theatres, liaising and working closely with the Ward/Service Manager to ensure efficient and effective plans and working practices
  • To ensure service provision is delivered within agreed budgets, delivering continuous resource management, cost improvement and theatre utilisation results
  • To ensure a high standard of evidence-based, high quality, cost effective care is consistently delivered that puts the patient first at all times
  • To act as a role model and patient advocate, ensuring a positive patient experience for all
  • Operates in the capacity of the Decontamination Lead with line management responsibility for the service and responsible to a senior responsible person at board level for the organisation.
  • To maintain own clinical competency
  • To support education of all staff within the Operating Theatre Department.

The successful candidate will be able to evidence significant experience within a Theatre environment and will be able to demonstrate their ability to lead and develop a team. Customer service and excellent communication skills are requisite of the role.

  • To provide clinical, professional and visible management of an identified team of practitioners within the department to deliver high quality patient centred care against Theatre activity and development plans
  • Responsible for the safe day to day running of the team to deliver scheduled activity and efficiencies, collaborating closely with fellow Clinical Leads, providing cross cover and deputising for the Theatre Manager as required
  • Responsible for delivering excellent governance, ensuring team members are legally compliant and adhering to all regulatory Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements and clinical standards
  • To provide specialist scrub knowledge and support to the Theatre Manager and Matron/Clinical Operations Manager, including support for planning activity and improvements to pre-operative care
  • To undertake the Coordinator role within Theatres
  • To ensure service provision is delivered in line with cost efficiency adhering to budgetary controls, planned activity and regulatory compliance
  • To ensure all patient areas and Theatre environment is safe, fit for purpose and effectively maintained
  • To act as a role model for staff and patient advocate, ensuring a positive patient experience for all
  • To maintain own clinical competency

 

The successful candidate will be able to evidence significant experience within a scrub role and will be able to demonstrate their ability to lead and develop a team. Customer service and excellent communication skills are requisite of the role.
