Patient Appointment Advisor-1897

£19,305 per annum

Permanent Contract

We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic individual with a flair for customer service to join our friendly and supportive team to assist our patients with their referral enquiries and appointments.  Our patient appointment advisor’s demonstrate expertise and knowledge of their responsible areas and evidence a good understanding of all other administrative areas.

The main responsibility of the role is to maximise the utilisation of clinics in line with departmental KPI’s and ensure bookings processes and guidelines are in place across each specialty.

Accuracy is requisite of this role to ensure that data is correctly recorded, and correct information is relayed to patients.

 The successful candidate will demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and will ensure tact and diplomacy across staff levels, they will have proven experience of personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.

Experience working in a customer centred environment is desirable.

Receptionist Fixed term contract- 1905/1906

£19,305 pro rata

Fixed Term Contract 30 hours pwk

We are looking for 2 Receptionist to join our friendly and professional team working on Benenden Hospital’s Main Reception.

The positions are for 30 hours a week and are fixed term contracts which end on 31st December 2022.

Reporting to the Senior Receptionist, the key responsibilities of the role are as below, although this list is not exhaustive:

  • To assist patients, carers, and other visitors at the hospital by covering switchboard queries, meeting and greeting on arrival, dealing with enquiries and giving directions when required
  • To check-in patients on the hospital’s Patient Administration System on arrival at the hospital and direct/assist them to the appropriate area
  • To undertake a variation of delegated administrative tasks
  • To ensure the reception area is consistently staffed, effectively maintained, and well stocked
  • To work flexibly within the department, according to competency and skills

Our Main Reception is a very busy area and is the first experience our customers have of the Hospital. We are therefore looking for someone who can plan and prioritise their work whilst also providing a first-class customer service.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Previous relevant experience
  • Customer care qualification, or willingness to work towards
  • Excellent IT skills, ideally Microsoft Office and Compucare
  • Proven ability to undertake multiple tasks under pressure
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, using tact, discretion, and diplomacy

The Hospital’s Main Reception is manned seven days a week and therefore hours of work will be allocated on a rota basis between 6.30am and 9pm Monday to Sunday. It is essential that the successful candidate can demonstrate flexibility as they may be required to work shifts at short notice.

Imaging Receptionist - 1875

£19305- £20,948

Full time, Fixed term contract

 

We are looking for a receptionist to work on our Imaging Reception, this is a fixed term contract for 6-months.

The purpose of the role is to provide a high standard of customer service and efficiency to ensure our valued patients receive a positive patient experience.

The Imaging Receptionist will manage all aspects of enquiries and appointments and will meet and greet patients on arrival, they may be required to chaperone patients as required.

Other duties include setting up equipment, entering patient information accurately into IT systems and may also include assisting with transferring/positioning of patients.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an excellent customer-centered approach and may have previous relevant experience. They will evidence excellent IT skills and a proven ability to undertake multiple tasks under pressure.

What is hospital administration?

Hospital administration is key to making all our patients feel welcomed, supported and communicated with. The administration is made up of several departments:

Reception Services

Our reception staff greet our patients when they arrive and ensure that they are directed where to sit and how to stay safe in and around the hospital.

Health Records

Our health records team carry out a variety of tasks, from gathering patient files and data for clinics to scanning correspondence onto our patient records system.

Medical Secretariat

As a Medical Secretary, you’ll support our busy Consultants by managing correspondence with their patients.

Patient Appointments / Referral Management

As well as managing treatment authorisations for Benenden Health members, our Referral Management team helps with patient queries and referrals vis the NHS e-Referral system.

Surgical Administration

This function includes our Theatre Bookings team, Pre-assessment office and Admissions teams. They’re responsible for booking pre-assessment clinics, theatre dates and managing the associated administration to ensure that our patients feel communicated with.

What qualifications are required to work in administration?

No formal qualifications are required for the majority of our administration services with the exception of the Medical Secretariat who need a qualification in typing and audio typing, preferably RSA or Pitman. 

A customer service qualification is desirable for all roles.
