We are looking to increase our team of reliable Flexi-Bank staff to support the Health Patient administration team. Typically the hours would be required to cover staff sickness, holiday cover and support whilst recruiting permanently. Whilst working flexibly, you will also have the opportunity to accept or decline shifts as they are offered depending on your availability and other commitments.
This role will sit within the wider role of Flexi-Bank Administration and patient Services, and you have the opportunity to also expand to work shifts and be trained in our Reservations team, Clinical administration or other Reception services

About the role
The Benenden Flexi Bank offers you total flexibility to choose shifts that are offered to you. It is ideal for people who have other commitments in their lives, but are still able to work a reasonable number of hours each month. Alternatively, you may be looking to boost your income, without being tied to set hours each week. Your hours are not guaranteed, and fluctuate with the needs of the hospital.
- Undertake administrative responsibilities and link with other working areas to ensure efficient running of the department.
- Administer tasks in compliance with the Hospital’s policies and departmental procedures.
- Ensure all patient information is filed appropriately and in a timely manner to keep patients;’ folders effectively maintained.
- Use IT system as directed and maintain training compliance.
- Work flexibly within the department according to competency, skills, and requirements of the business.
- Assist patients and stakeholders by ensuring telephones are covered and information if facilitated efficiently.,
- Effective and appropriate communication with other departments and third parties.
Skills and experience required
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent experience.
- Relevant experience in healthcare administration.
- Excellent IT skills with good knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases. Knowledge of Compucare will be an advantage.
- Proven ability to undertake multiple tasks under time pressures.
- Effective verbal communication using tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent written skills.
- Strong prioritisation skills.
- Strong [patient-focussed approach.
- Methodical in approach and pays attention to details.
- Organised.
- Flexible, adaptable, and open to change.
