Senior Theatre Practitioner
25 Hours per week
The Senior Theatre Practitioner will plan and Implement high standards of perioperative care for patients promoting a patient –focussed approach to care. They will be proficient in scrub nurse duties and will require excellent skills in orthopaedic surgery.
Having excellent customer service and team working skills the Senior Theatre Practitioner will work as part of the Theatres team, providing support and mentorship to more junior roles.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Operating Department Practice or will be able to evidence equivalent experience; they will be willing to learn new skills.
The duties will include but is not exhaustive of:
- Undertaking a range of work procedures using complex or sensitive information which will require the use of initiative and analysis.
- Monitoring patients whilst in theatre’s anaesthetics and recovery
- Act as the patients advocate
- Act as deputy to the Theatre Lead as and when required
- SFA qualification an advantage
The successful candidate will hold a degree in operating department practice or equivalent experience and will be able to demonstrate their excellent verbal and written skills. They will be able to evidence their ability to prioritise their day and their ability to solve problems. Strong negotiation skills are also essential.
