Healthcare Support Worker in Outpatients
Full Time - 37.5 Hours per week
Benenden Hospital is looking for a Healthcare Support Worker to work in Outpatients. This is an exciting time for Outpatients who have recently moved into the brand new department in the new build.
The Healthcare Support Worker will report into the Outpatients Sister and will assist patients visiting the department with their care requirements. They will undertake a wide range of routine work procedures which may require the use of initiative and will undertake basic tests such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, height, weight and BMI calculations, MRSA screening and phlebotomy. This work will be undertaken under the direct supervision of Senior Medical Staff. The Healthcare Support Worker will also be expected to update patient information on IT systems and will ensure that the department is effectively maintained and well stocked.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant professional qualifications i.e. NVQ Level II in Health and Social Care (or other relevant Health related NVQ) or willingness to work towards
- Basic Life Support or Immediate Life Support training
- Basic Phlepotomy and ECG monitoring experience
- Good IT skills
- Proven ability to undertake multiple tasks under pressure
