Hospital worker completes charity run

A Learning and Development Co-ordinator at Benenden Hospital has raised £340 for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf by taking part in the Great North Run.

Karie Killick ran the 13.1 mile route, a half marathon, in two hours and 42 minutes.

She said: “The support was amazing. It was a really hot day, which made it hard, but I’d definitely run another half marathon. It was a great day.”

The Great North Run is the largest half marathon in the world, taking place annually in North East England each September. Participants run between Newcastle upon Tyne and South Shields.

Karie decided to run for Hearing Dogs for the Deaf as she used to work in mainstream education supporting deaf children.
