The President of Tenterden Lions Club paid a visit to Benenden Hospital to pick up a collection of secondhand spectacles which will be sent to developing countries.
The glasses have been collected in the Hospital's Eye Unit. Most have been donated by patients who have had cataract operations who have found that afterwards they no longer need their glasses.
Other pairs were donated by staff and visitors to the Hospital. The Eye Unit permanently has a spectacles collection bin for the Lions.
President Barry Cheesmur said: "We are very grateful to those who have taken the time and effort to donate their glasses, so that they can be used again overseas."
