About Dr Rampat
I am a Consultant in Cardiology at East Kent University Hospitals NHS Trust (EKHUFT) with specialist expertise in the management of coronary heart disease. I am also the lead for primary angioplasty service for the region of Kent, which provides emergency treatment for patients diagnosed with heart attacks.
I received a full scholarship to study medicine at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and graduated with Merit and several academic prizes. I undertook my cardiology training in the South London deanery. After completing my training, I undertook a fellowship at the prestigious Institut Cardiovasculaire Paris Sud under the supervision of Dr Chevalier, a world-renowned interventional cardiologist.
I am the lead for cardiovascular research in East Kent. I am the principal investigator in several national and international cardiac trials. I have an MD (Doctor of Medicine) in cardiac research and have published in major peer reviewed journals in cardiology. I am a member of the Cardiovascular European Research Center (CERC), which is the leading research organisation in cardiovascular disease in Europe.
I am passionate about delivering high quality care and possess clinical expertise in all aspects of general and interventional cardiology.
I subspecialised in interventional cardiology, which primarily involves the placement of coronary stents to treat angina and heart attacks.
I also provide general cardiology services including heart failure, arrhythmia management and imaging including cardiac CT.
I am married to an Ophthalmic surgeon and have two young children. I enjoy reading and spending quality time with my family.
