My first experience of Benenden Hospital was when I visited a friend who was an inpatient. I remember chatting to the housekeeping staff and thinking what a friendly and warm place it was. At the time, I had no idea that I would end up being the hospital’s Director for HR and OD!

I didn’t have a burning ambition to become an HR Professional however, my first job as an HR Trainee at Lotus Cars sparked my interest and I contribute this ‘spark’ to their very high achieving HR Director who guided and supported me over the two years that I spent with them. My keenness to explore different industries while training and gaining experience took me to a variety of organisations over the years and included manufacturing, direct sales, pharmaceutical, technology and healthcare both in single and multi-sited, national and European locations.

I am passionate about my role and in particular, I enjoy building relationships across all areas of the hospital. I work with a great team and we strive to provide a first class HR and OD service to the hospital.

Outside of the office, I am a keen equestrian and have competed and owned a number of horses over the years. Whilst my competing days are now over, I still enjoy horse ownership, a variety of fitness activities and watching great drama programmes on the telly.
