A highly experienced and fully qualified NMC registered nurse, I have a long career history with Benenden Hospital, having celebrated more than 20 years' service.
My first exposure to our hospital was as a student nurse on a placement during my training. I enjoyed the training placement so much that I applied to work as a permanent member of the team.
Commencing my employment as a Staff Nurse in September 2001 with a particular interest in pain management, I held a variety of positions including a clinical lead role in pre-operative assessment and was a member of the Preoperative Association Board for 16 years, including a two year tenure as the President. I've held various clinical operational management roles until my move into the role of Matron in 2013. Following a restructure in 2020, I became the sole Matron/Clinical Operations Manager and Director of Infection Prevention and Control (DPIC) with overall responsibility for all of the clinical services at the hospital.
I have continuously demonstrated my passion and dedication to the safe delivery of patient-centred care. I have highly developed and intuitive communication and leadership styles, combined with the skill to methodically analyse and focus on the solution.
