Pelvic Floor Surgery Master Class - Thursday 11 October 2007

Introduction

In the last 10 years there has been a revisit to the anatomy of the pelvic floor supports with a new understanding of the dynamics of pelvic floor anatomy. This has resulted in the development of many new techniques particularly pelvic floor repair, in particular the use of mesh which is now going to be an inevitable component of gynaecological surgery.
There is evidence that there is a very limited role for vaginal hysterectomy if indeed any in the management of utero-vaginal prolapse.

Overview and Objectives

This Master Class attempts to discuss and demonstrate the 'state of the art' in pelvic floor surgery. National and internationally acclaimed speakers will cover the evidence in important areas such as:

  • Dynamic Pelvic Anatomy: Implications for Function and Surgical Repair
  • The use of mesh in gynaecological surgery
  • The different techniques of pelvic floor repair surgery 
  • Recent laparoscopic and vaginal surgical techniques in pelvic floor surgery 

Who should attend?

The meeting is aimed at consultant gynaecologists and gynaecologists in training with special interest in pelvic floor surgery. 
The number of delegates registered on this Master Class is strictly limited to 100 and early application is therefore advised. Places may not be reserved without payment in full. You are not guaranteed a place until you receive written confirmation that you have been accepted onto the course.

Fee and Payment

The registration fee is £250. The fee includes coffee, lunch, tea and administration to the lectures. You will receive written confirmation of your registration within 14 days of receipt of payment.

Benenden Hospital is easily accessible by road and main line rail.  The nearest station is Headcorn (with a shuttle bus running from the station to the hospital).  There are rail services from Charing Cross, London and Ashford International, Kent.  Benenden Hospital is located approximately 45 miles from Gatwick Airport.
