Pelvic Floor Surgery Master Class - Thursday 11 October 2007
Introduction
In the last 10 years there has been a revisit to the anatomy of the pelvic floor supports with a new understanding of the dynamics of pelvic floor anatomy. This has resulted in the development of many new techniques particularly pelvic floor repair, in particular the use of mesh which is now going to be an inevitable component of gynaecological surgery.
There is evidence that there is a very limited role for vaginal hysterectomy if indeed any in the management of utero-vaginal prolapse.
