Course Outline: First Aid at Work - Requalification

Aim of the Course
The aim of the course is to refresh  and update employees of Benenden Hospital and other  organisations in their role of first-aiders in the workplace, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) ) Regulations 1981.

The course is open to First Aiders who have an in-date First Aid at Work Certificate on the first day of the course.

Length and Structure of the Course
The course will take place over 2 days.  The hours of attendance on each of the four days will be from 09.15 to 16.45 hours, which includes a 45 minute break for lunch and 15 minutes for coffee/tea breaks.

Course Content
The following subjects will be reviewed on the course:

  1. Update on procedures, equipment and guidelines
  2. Resuscitation
  3. Treatment and control of bleeding
  4. Treatment of shock
  5. Management of the unconscious casualty

The following procedures will be revised:

  1. Treatment of injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  2. Treatment of minor injuries
  3. Treatment of burns and scalds
  4. Eye injuries
  5. Personal hygiene in treating wounds
  6. Communication and delegation in an emergency

£150.00 inc vat
