Services for children have developed over the past few years at Benenden Hospital and we now offer a range of surgical services for children aged 1-16 years.
A family member can remain with a child throughout their time in hospital and our aim is to provide a relaxed friendly and professional service.
The service is provided from O’Shea Ward, with 12 single rooms for child and accompanying adult sharing. The unit is brightly painted and child friendly, with the team wearing colourful clothes. The children too, can wear their own clothes and play outfits during their time at the Hospital.
The unit is a safe dedicated unit, which includes a well-equipped play area with toys, Play stations and videos etc.
Surgical Procedures are undertaken as day case procedure or in some circumstances requiring an over night stay in Hospital.

Recent initiatives include audiometry testing during appropriate outpatient appointments
