Catering Department:
Overview:
The Catering Department aims to provide a quality food offer to suit the needs of patients, staff and visitors throughout the day.
Facilities:
The Penthouse Diner (Ext. 2353) situated on the second floor of the main Hospital is open from 07.45 – 18.30 Sunday to Saturday serving sandwiches, cakes and light snacks. Beverages are available 24 hours.
The Dining Room situated in the Administration Building is open 11.30 – 14.00 Monday to Friday serving sandwiches, snacks and hot meals. Beverages are available 24 hours.
Meals for patients are served in the Clinics or on the Wards.
Vending machines for beverages, crisps and confectionary are located outside Jubilee Clinic, Princess Waiting Area and Dining Room.
Catering Functions:
The Catering Department can provide a wide variety of food for functions.

Housekeeping
Overview:
The Housekeeping Department aims to provide the highest standards of cleaning in all areas of the Hospital.
Benenden is a registered training centre for BIC(s). BIC(s) training is offered to all Housekeeping staff.
Peek Lodge
Overview:
Peek Lodge |offers convenient and affordable accommodation within walking distance of the Hospital for Members and visitors.
Facilities:
The range of facilities include a range of rooms; 27 single, 4 twin, 2 disabled and 4 family rooms all with ensuite bathroom/shower.
Colour televisions, telephones and tea and coffee making facilities in all rooms.
Ample car parking.
Continental breakfast and a limited early evening menu.
Cold drinks and confectionary items are available from vending machines.
Guests may check in at Peek Lodge from 2.00 p.m. on the day of their reservation.
Guests are requested to vacate their room by 10.30 a.m. on the day of departure.

Reception & Switchboard
Overview:
To provide a professional and efficient service to all visitors and to respond to all telephone enquiries speedily and accurately.
Location
Reception and Switchboard is located in the entrance in the main Hospital operating from 07.30 to 20.30 Monday to Friday and 08.30 – 18.30 Saturday and Sunday.
The telephone is manned 24/7.
Main Functions:
Reception:
Receive visitors and ensure identification is issued.
Direct patients to correct Departments.
Provide information to visitors and staff.
Travel Helpline for patients.
Rail bookings for staff.
Deal with outgoing post for all Departments.
Switchboard:
Receive incoming calls.
Contact staff through bleep and pager system.
Test cardiac/fire bleep calls each morning.
Answer cardiac and fire emergency calls.
Contact staff on call during weekends and evenings.
Shop & Post Office:
Overview:
The Shop and Post Office offers a service to patients, staff and visitors.
Location:
The Shop and Post Office is located in the reception of the main Hospital building.
The Shop is open 9.00 – 16.00 Monday to Friday.
The Post Office is open:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 09.00 – 15.00
Wednesday 09.00 – 13.00
Closed Everyday 11.35 – 12.15

The Post Office
Offers full facilities except for Car Tax and Passports.
Utility bills can be paid free of charge. Foreign currency can be ordered at 0% commission and collected in 48 hours – payment with order. Cheques to the value of the accompanying cheque card or credit cards accepted.
