Does the hospital allow friends and relatives to accompany patients?

Yes - as long as you have the patient's permission. If the patient needs someone to accompany them, due to the nature of their procedure, they will be told. If in doubt, call the hospital's main reception on 01580 240 333.

How long will the hospital stay be?

We'll give this information to the patient before admission.

If I have a question about the patient's care or treatment, who should I ask?

Patient confidentiality limits the amount of information we can disclose either face to face or over the phone without the patient's permission. If you have general queries then please use the following contacts:

How can I contact the patient in an emergency?

Can I be contacted when the patient is ready to come home?

It's better for you to call us - the care team will tell you if and when your friend or relative is ready to be collected.

Important Visitor Information

Visiting hours are from 1100-1330 and 1500-2000. (subject to change)
Visits may be restricted in the patient's interest on the day of operation or at the discretion of the Nursing staff.
Visitors are requested to report to ward reception desk on arrival.

Children are allowed to visit by arrangement with the Staff but we ask that they do not disturb other patients. In the case of very young children and babies, we would prefer that you don't bring them to visit. However, if this is unavoidable please phone ahead so we can make special arrangements.

For reasons of hygiene, only registered guide dogs are allowed in hospital grounds or premises.

Visitors are requested to switch off mobile phones inside Hospital buildings especially in clinical areas as they cause a nuisance to other patients.

Refreshments can be obtained from vending machines and the Café situated above the Main Reception area.

The Hospital Chapel, St Margaret's, is open for private prayer and can be found along the road to the right as you exit the main car park.
