Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus MRSA.
This is a very infectious condition that is resistant to most antibiotic treatment and hinders speedy recovery. Please telephone our Infection Control Nurse on extension 2266 or bleep 106 before coming into hospital if:
-
You have been an inpatient at any other Hospital, Nursing Home, Residential or Retirement Home within the last year.
-
You have come into contact with MRSA.
-
You work in a healthcare setting.
This will enable us to conduct appropriate screening checks and avoid any delays to your treatment.
Mobile phones can affect medical equipment and must remain switched off and not used anywhere within hospital buildings. They may be used in the hospital grounds away from buildings.
The hospital has a 'No Smoking' policy and you and your visitors are requested to respect this for the benefit of others.
Please report any slips, trips or falls, or any other accidents you experience on the Hospital premises to the ward/department staff.
