Consultant outline: My medical graduation (MBBS) is from University of Calcutta in 1972, then after finishing training as a General Surgeon I came to England, gained FRCS from Edinburgh in 1983. I was trained in the London and Medway Hospital in Kent and my Registrar and Senior Registrar training was in Western Hospital (Teaching) in Edinburgh from 1983 to 1987. I went back to Calcutta, India in 1988 as a Consultant Surgeon in GI unit of Calcutta Medical Research Institute. I came back in 1992 and joined Benenden Hospital in July 1993.
